At the Monday, May 15 Regular Meeting, council members approved an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2023 Adopted Budget; concurred with the City Manager’s appointment of Brandon Harris as the Interim Police Chief; and appointed directors to the Missouri City Management District No. 1 and Missouri City Management District No. 2. - Authorized (7-0) the ratification of the expense incurred in the procurement of emergency clean-up services at the Steep Bank Flat Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant from Magna Flow Environmental, Inc., for $80,263.68.
- Approved (7-0) an application for parkland dedication for Cherian Estates.
- Approved (7-0) an ordinance on the second and final reading, continuing the rules and regulations pertaining to the standards of care for certain elementary-age recreation programs operated by the City.

- Held a public hearing to receive comments for or against a request by Roger Dorris on behalf of Elevate Ministries for a SUP, Specific Use Permit to allow for the location of a place of assembly, church and event center, and to the extent such zoning deviates from the Future Land Use and Character map of the Comprehensive Plan, to provide for an amendment therefrom. The subject site is located at 2435 Texas Parkway, Suite H, within the Parkway Court Shopping Center, north of Quail Green residential subdivision, south of an American Storage, and east of a Wells Fargo Bank.
- Approved (7-0) an ordinance on the first of two readings to zone approximately 5,000 square feet of lease space to SUP, Specific Use Permit, to allow for the location of a place of assembly, church and an event center; and to the extent such zoning deviates from the Future Land Use and Character map of the Comprehensive Plan, to provide for an amendment therefrom. The subject site is located at 2435 Texas Parkway, Suite H, within the Parkway Court shopping center, east of Texas Parkway, east of Wells Fargo Bank, south of American Storage, and north of Quail Green Section 1 residential subdivision, northeast of Missouri City Fire Station #3, and southeast of Omid Center.
- Host a public hearing to receive comments for or against a request by Harmony Public Schools to zone an approximate 28.37 acres of land to SUP, Specific Use Permit, to allow for the location of a place of assembly, allowing for development of educational facilities; and to the extent such zoning deviates from the Future Land Use and Character map of the Comprehensive Plan, to provide for an amendment therefrom. The subject site is located east of the Creekmont residential subdivision, north of the Newpoint Estates residential subdivision, and south of Highway 6. This item was removed from the agenda at the request of the applicant.

- Approved (7-0) an ordinance on the first and final reading to amend the Fiscal Year 2023 Adopted Budget.
Resolutions
- Approved (7-0) a resolution finding that CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC’s application for approval to amend its distribution cost recovery factor to increase distribution rates within the City should be denied; finding that the City’s reasonable rate case expenses shall be reimbursed by CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC; finding that the meeting at which this resolution is passed is open to the public, as required by law; and providing notice of this resolution.

- Unanimously concurred with the City Manager’s appointment of Brandon Harris as the Interim Police Chief.
- Unanimously approved to increase the pay to $125 per hour for the presiding municipal court judge, $100 per hour for the associate judges and an annual budget of $500 per judge for training.
