During the April 4, 2022 City Council Special Meeting Closed Executive Session, Council discussed agenda item 3(a): Texas Government Code, Section 551.074 – Deliberations concerning the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee: the City Attorney, City Manager, and City Secretary.
After deliberations, Council voted to place City Manager Charles Jackson on paid administrative leave for up to 60 days pending the outcome of an investigation.
Sedrick Cole, Chief Information Officer, has been designated as the Acting City Manager, pursuant to authorization granted by the City Council on February 7, 2022. “I am quite confident the City will continue to be successful, despite any challenges it may face, given the leadership of the City Council, the dedication of City staff members, and the commitment of the citizens to make Missouri City the best it can be,” Cole said. City operations and business will continue without interruption.
As this relates to a pending personnel matter, the City is unable to provide further information about the decision.
