MCTX Activities for the Upcoming Spring Break & More

Parks Agenda

Spring is almost upon us! Make plans to join in the fun activities planned by our Parks & Recreation team. For more information or to register for any of the upcoming events or camps listed below, call 281.403.8637 or visit www.mctxparks.com.

Kids Camp Spring Break

  • What: Fun activities including outdoor fun, cool crafts, nerf guns, special presentations and more. Registration deadline is Friday, March 12.
  • When: March 15 - 19
  • Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Location: Community Center, 1522 Texas Pkwy.
  • Cost: $80 for the week

Sta-Mo Park Service Day

  • What: Volunteers are needed for this community service project. 
  • When: Saturday, March 13
  • Time: 9 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Sta-Mo Sports Complex, 1917 Moore Rd.
  • Cost: FREE

Spring Break Tennis Camp

  • What: The camp is for players of all levels from ages 5 to 16. 
  • When: March 15 - 19 & March 22 - 26
  • Time: Full day camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Half day camp from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Location: Recreation & Tennis Center, 2701 Cypress Point Dr.
  • Cost: Varies; for more details, call 281.403.8637 or visit www.mctxparks.com

Acrylic Painting Class

  • What: Professional Painter Heather Roy will hold painting classes in 5 week sessions every Tuesday or Thursday. Painters of all skill levels are welcome.
  • When: March 16 to April 15
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Location: Recreation & Tennis Center, 2701 Cypress Point Dr.
  • Cost: $75 per 5 week session (All supplies needed are included in the cost)

Virtual Senior Bingo

  • What: Join us for a live, game of Bingo on Zoom and win prizes. 
  • When: Thursday, March 18 
  • Time: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Cost: FREE

Friday Night Flicks

  • What: Grab your friends, family, lawn chairs, or picnic blankets and join us for a movie night in the park and help local organizations in need. This month’s movie is “Onward.” 
  • When: Friday, March 19
  • Time: 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Location: Community Park, 1700 Glenn Lakes Ln.
  • Cost: In lieu of registration fee, Mayor’s Youth Commission members will be collecting donations to benefit Star of Hope, a local charity that supports homeless individuals. 

Warzone Tournament

  • What: All participants will be invited to a private lobby, where the winning teams will gain free entry to our paid Warzone Tournament on April 24. Discord invite will be sent via email upon registration. 
  • When: Saturdays; March 20 and April 3
  • Time: 2 p.m.
  • Cost: FREE

Outdoor Explorers Camp

  • What: Packed with fun, adventure and learning, this camp is sure to inspire a sense of love and wonder for the great outdoors. 
  • When: March 22 - 26
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. 
  • Location: Buffalo Run Park, 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd.
  • Cost: $75

Seniors Picnic in the Park

  • What: Pack a lunch and join your fellow Missouri City Seniors for a safe social gathering at one of the local parks.  
  • When: Thursday, March 25
  • Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Location: Community Park, 1700 Glenn Lakes Ln.
  • Cost: FREE

Introduction to Kayaking Workshop

  • What: Participants ages 10 and above will learn fundamental kayak skills including safety, basic strokes, and concepts in craft handling, and identifying hazards. Children ages 10-15 must use a tandem kayak and have an adult in the craft with them at all times.
  • When: Saturday, March 27
  • Time: 9 a.m. to noon 
  • Location: Independence Park, 2621 Half Court Rd.
  • Cost: $5
