At their Monday, June 15 Virtual Regular Meeting, Councilmembers authorized the execution of an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County to receive funds under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act; authorized the Mayor to sign a letter of approval for Robinhood EMS, Inc., to operate a non-emergency ambulance service in the City of Missouri City; and authorized the execution of an interlocal agreement with the City of Houston for the Missouri City Police Department’s participation in the United States Department of Justice Human Trafficking Grant program. Here is a rundown of all Council actions at the meeting:
Presentations and Recognitions:
- Recognized the one-year anniversary of One Life Fellowship.
- Recognized the week of June 14-20, 2020 as “Waste and Recycling Workers Week,” saluting the efforts of WCA Waste Corporation through the MCTX Municipal Solid Waste Program and honoring the Honey Brown Hope Foundation for its “No Trashing Trash Workers” initiative that supports waste collectors for the essential service they provide to the community. - Presented the Golden Tree Award to H-E-B for several contributions towards the City’s beautification.
Staff Reports:
- Interim City Manager Bill Atkinson and staff reviewed the list of Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects.
- Staff presented the Fiscal Year 2021 budget overview.
Consent Agenda:
- Approved the minutes of the special and regular City Council meetings of June 1 and the special City Council meeting minutes of June 5 and June 8, 2020.
- Authorized the continuation for annual payments for certain website hosting services.
Authorizations:
- Authorized the execution of an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County to receive funds under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
