Missouri City ❤ its businesses! Last week, the “Show Me City” was in the spotlight of success again: Billy’s Donuts made local, national and international headlines after Billy By, the namesake of the store, tweeted a picture of his dad, Satharith, who is the owner, being sad because no one initially came to the shop’s grand opening. Billy’s tweet was retweeted more than 344,000 times and received more than 767,000 likes. The result: thousands of customers lined up at the Highway 6 store for donuts during the week and the restaurant continuously sold out of its breakfast offerings.
Coverage of Billy’s Donuts was featured on the City's Facebook page, on the front page of the Houston Chronicle, was showcased on both NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, and in media outlets across the world, including networks in Mexico, Spain, France, Greece and Indonesia.
Six-tenths of a mile north on Highway 6 from Billy’s is the newest location of Bernie’s Burger Bus, an area specialty restaurant. Bernie’s opened its drive thru on Thursday, March 14, and the line wrapped around the building. The grand opening was Friday, March 15, and the popular eatery served dozens of meals over the weekend. Further north across the City on Texas Parkway, Wells Fargo opened its doors once again after being closed due to Hurricane Harvey. The bank rolled in its signature stagecoach for the occasion and guests climbed aboard to take photos. Also on-site, employees provided giveaways for all in attendance and hired a James Coney Island food truck to treat guests to lunch. Dignitaries at the event included District C Councilmember Anthony Maroulis; State Rep. Ron Reynolds; Rosalind Gary, District Director for Rep. Reynolds, and Diana Waters, Community Liaison for State Sen. Borris Miles. See a City Facebook Live Interview With Wells Fargo.

All of these successes highlight why MCTX is rated one of America’s best places to locate and grow a business and why so many companies and residents are proud to call the “Show Me City” home. Learn more.
