The planting of this Montezuma Cypress serves as a memorial to Julius C. “Buster” Court who faithfully served both his country and community. In the U.S. Army Air Corp, Buster survived the Bataan Death March in 1942 and was released 3 long years later. In 1950, he started a 30 year career as a Fort Bend Constable. Buster was a Charter member of the Stafford-Missouri City Lions Club since 1957 until his passing in 2010 (at 82 years). He is remembered as a kind man and a respected humanitarian. This new Montezuma Cypress in Roane Park is known to be one of the stoutest trees. It serves to honor the memory and contributions of this war hero, civil servant and faithful Lion’s Club member.
