Citizens' Police & Fire Academy

Missouri City's Citizens' Police & Fire Academy is usually held once a year and offers "behind-the-scenes" view of the dangers police officers and firefighters face on the job. The free, eight-week program is open to residents.

Real World Training

Participants receive instruction in:

  • Traffic laws and criminal law
  • Firearms training simulator
  • Motor vehicle extrication using the jaws-of-life
  • Principles of CPR
  • Live fire demonstration
  • and much more...

There will be a staged SWAT operation, traffic stops, building searches, and crime scene investigations.

Applicant Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Live or work in Missouri City

After completing the academy, members will be eligible to join the Missouri City Police & Fire Auxiliary and/ or the Citizens Response Team.

Next class begins April 3, 2019

The training will be for eight weeks beginning April 3 and ending with graduation on May 31. The classes will be once a week (every Wednesday) from 6:20 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

All 24 seats are filled for the 2019 class.
