Missouri City marked a historical transition in leadership tonight (Monday, Dec. 17), as newly elected Mayor Yolanda Ford was administered the oath of office by Presiding Judge Debra Sinclair. Ford was elected by voters citywide in the Dec. 8 Runoff Election. Council Chambers and City Hall was filled with citizens, stakeholders, family members and supporters who came to witness the ceremony first-hand.

Ford is the City’s 11th Mayor and succeeds the Honorable Allen Owen, who was recognized tonight for his 32 years of service, of which 24 years were as Mayor.

Also sworn into office tonight was Councilmember Chris Preston, who serves as At-Large Position #2.
