The corridor enhancements and beautification along Cartwright Road and Texas Parkway are currently under way. The Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor, Texas Wall and Landscape, is in the process of removing median soil materials, vegetation, shrubs and low tolerant trees that are beyond their life expectancies. The crews will be replacing the landscaping with new ground cover, climate tolerant trees and irrigation. Alternate lane closures are possible along Cartwright Road and Texas Parkway during this project. Traffic control devices will be in place and the estimated completion is late summer 2020.

This is the first phase of this three-part project that will include enhancements on Texas Parkway going southbound to Turtle Creek, and on Cartwright Road from Murphy Road to Texas Parkway. The cost of the first phase is $1 million, which TxDOT is funding through grants. Phase two will include reader signs and monuments at key entry and exit points in the City. Phase three focuses on City Hall and will feature landscape improvements around the complex. Phases two and three, along with design services for all three phases, will cost the City approximately

UnknownRobinson Road & Lantern Lane

In the upcoming days, Statewide Services, Inc., on behalf of Missouri City Management District No. 1 will be working on a sanitary sewer line for a public infrastructure project within the City. The crews will begin work on Friday, March 7 on Point Clear Drive at Lantern Lane and will proceed to Robinson Road by Friday, March 13. Full lane closures will be in place on those streets and detour routes will be setup during the construction. Each area will take about one week to complete and residents on those streets will be notified prior to construction.

Sienna Parkway

Beginning Monday, March 9, the City’s contractor, Brooks Concrete, will be doing repairs along Sienna Parkway. There are about six locations in need of maintenance and each area will take approximately five days to complete, pending weather. Partial lane closures will be in effect along Sienna Parkway for about one month while the crews complete this roadwork. Traffic control signs are in place to notify motorists of these upcoming repairs.
