Candidate Applications for 2019 General Election Being Accepted Until Monday, Aug. 19


In accordance with the Texas Election Code, the City will hold a General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and the positions on the ballot are for Districts A, B, C and D Councilmembers.

The first day to file for a place on the ballot is this Saturday, July 20; however, applications will start being accepted the next regular business day – Monday, July 22 starting at 8 a.m.

A few other key dates to note:

  • Monday, Aug. 19: Last day to file an application for a place on the ballot.
  • Friday, Aug. 23: Last day for a write-in candidate to declare candidacy.
  • Monday, Aug. 26: Last day for a ballot candidate and write-in candidate to withdraw from the election and have name removed.
  • Saturday, Sept. 21: First day candidate political signs may be posted.
