UPDATE: MCTX Review of Dog Incident Is Ongoing

Missouri City is aware of the dog incident and, at this time, an investigation into the matter is under way.

As part of Missouri City’s ongoing investigation of all aspects of the dog incident that occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 11, involving multiple pets, staff has taken the following actions:



  • Confirmed the 10-day home quarantine for the dogs involved (isolation in a secure cage, only leaving the cage on leash for relieving themselves in an enclosed area). The quarantine was successfully completed on Saturday, Dec. 21;

  • Received incident statements from all parties involved;

  • Reviewed City code to ascertain if any infractions occurred and filed violations for exceeding the number of pets allowed per ordinance, pets not being registered with the City, and pets failing to have required vaccinations; and

  • Found that no pets involved were registered with the City.

Missouri City staff is continuing its investigation of all aspects of the dog incident that occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 11, involving multiple pets.


As the review is under way, it is important to note that the City is taking the following steps:


  • Per City code, requiring a 10-day home quarantine for the dogs involved (isolation in a secure cage, only leaving the cage on leash for relieving themselves in an enclosed area);

  • Scheduling a follow-up staff inspection to confirm that home quarantine regulations are in place according to code;

  • Requesting incident statements from all parties involved;

  • Reviewing City code to ascertain if any violations occurred; and

  • Reviewing pet ownership and registration of all pets involved to assure compliance with City code.
