Weekly Programs

Pickleball: Open Play
Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
9:00-12:00 pm
Rec & Tennis Center

Play one of the fastest growing sports in America! Pickleball is a racquet sport played by 2-4 people that has elements similar to badminton and tennis. This recreational open play time welcomes all levels to attend. A membership at the Rec & Tennis Center is required to play. Non-members will be required to purchase a $5 day pass.

Tuesday & Thursday
2 sessions: 
10:30 - 11:30 am and 12:00 - 1:00 pm

This class teaches participants proper form and technique on various muscular strength and endurance by using a variety of movements.

Beginning Birding
Tuesdays, 8:30-10:30 am
October 30-December 11 (no class Nov 20)
Rec & Tennis Center
Cost: $75 per 6 week session

Sign up for our Beginning Birding class and learn how to select proper equipment, how to identify birds using field marks, songs, and behavior, and ways to get more involved. This class will meet for 6 weeks and will consist of several in class meetings and field trips in the local area to practice your skills! Acrylic Painting Classes
9:00 - 11:00 am
Rec & Tennis Center
Cost: $75 per 5 week session

Classes are taught by professional painter Heather Roy and held in 5 week sessions. Each session, participants will complete an acrylic painting to take home. All supplies are provided!

Gentle Yoga

Cost: Free for members, non-members will need to purchase a $5 day pass
Grab your yoga mat and join us for a slow-paced, Vinyasa-style yoga class. This class focuses on breathing and proper alignment allowing students to work on improving flexibility, balance, and core strength. Open to all levels of experience.

Multi-Purpose Room

Mah Jongg is a tile game usually played by 4 people that has been embraced all around the world. Practice your skills while building friendships.

The Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department hosts senior bingo monthly for area residents who are 50+. Enjoy refreshments with friends while playing for great prizes. Tickets are $5 can be purchased at the door. This program is held at the Rec & Tennis Center and rotates each month from morning to evening.    

Bingo Night - August 16. Doors will open at 5:30 pm
Breakfast & Bingo - September 20. Doors will open at 9:00 am

Senior Foodies

Are you a food enthusiast? Enjoy meeting new friends? Join us for Senior Foodies! This program for senior citizens (50+), is an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant with great company. All participants are encouraged to RSVP by calling 281-403-8637. On the day of the event, we will meet at the designated lunch location at 11:30 am. Separate checks will be issued for each participant.

Senior Field Trip: San Jacinto Museum
Wednesday, October 10
8:30 am-3:00 pm
Rec & Tennis Center
Cost: $25, participant is responsible to pay for their lunch

Join us for a trip to the San Jacinto Museum of History. Our first attraction will be a “Texas Forever “presentation about The Battle of San Jacinto and the Texas Revolution. We will then take the elevator in the monument to the observation floor where you will get a sky view of the Houston Ship Channel and Battleship Texas. Join us for an exciting trip to Coushatta Casino in Kinder, Louisiana. The transportation cost for this trip is $10. Trip participants will receive a $10 gaming voucher upon arrival to the casino. Senior Field Trip: Alley Theatre
Saturday, December 15

Cost: $25, price does not include lunch

Join us on a trip to the Alley Theatre to see a seasonal favorite- A Christmas Carol. Prior to the play, enjoy an Italian inspired lunch at Birraporettis Restaurant. Check in begins at 11:30 am and the bus will depart at 12:00 pm. Registration deadline is November 11. Stop by the Recreation and Tennis Center or call 281-403-8637 to register.
