Edena Atmore has qualifications and achievements that will be instrumental in maintaining the City’s strong fiscal management.
Previously, Ms. Atmore was a Government Finance Consultant for the City of Forest Hill, Texas; her responsibilities included providing government accounting, auditing, utility billing, and treasury management services. She also served as the Managing Director of Financial Services in the City of Desoto, Texas, from 2011 to 2016.
In addition, Ms. Atmore has held various positions as an auditor and a finance administrator in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and New York State. She has a Master of Accounting Degree from St. Mary’s University and a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance & Marketing from St. Edward’s University. She is an Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) graduate – National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) and has been a member of the organization since 2012; serving as a Mentor in its Mentor Program in 2015.
Currently, she also holds certifications as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO), Certified Public Manager (CPM), Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Overall, Ms. Atmore has over 25 years of government experience working for the State of Texas and other local governments. Her experience spans various industries; including banking, property and facility management, financial and investment planning, nonprofit organizations and local governments. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has three adult boys. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, singing and volunteering for various youth group and church related activities.
